Briggs & Stratton Corporation’s Mow N’ Stow® Technology
MILWAUKEE (March 3, 2016) — Mow N' Stow® engine technology fromBriggs & Stratton® Corporation (NYSE:BGG) has been recognized by one of the longest-standing and most widely known design awards in the world. The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies recently announced Mow N’ Stow technology won a 2015 GOOD DESIGN award.
“It’s an honor for our team to receive such a prestigious award,” said Carissa Gingras, marketing director for consumer engines and service at Briggs & Stratton. “Our top priority when designing products is to ensure they’re always consumer-centric, easy to use and functional. This ground-breaking innovation certainly meets that criteria, offering a space-saving technology not offered on any other lawn mower engine.”
The patented Mow N' Stow engine design has a unique fuel tank design that enables gas and oil to stay in their respective places. This allows mowers equipped with the engine to be folded and stored upright for a 70% footprint reduction. “Perfect when garage space is at a premium,” Gingras said.
The Museum received several thousand submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and design firms. From that pool, juries selected more than 900 product designs and graphics from over 38 nations to receive the GOOD DESIGN award for demonstrating the highest aesthetic in terms of innovative design, new technologies, form, materials, construction, concept, function, utility, energy efficiency and sensitivity to the environment.
The GOOD DESIGN awards are posted on the Museum’s websites, www.chi-athenaeum.org and www.europeanarch.eu. Mow N’ Stow also will be featured in GOOD DESIGN’s 2015-2016 yearbook.
